Filthy's Blog is Back

Welcome back to Filthy's blog, where artist Jeffrey Lipsky's (aka Filthy FLuno) projects and shows are chronicled semi-regularly. We took a bit of a hiatus since Jeff has a new website and updates it regularly with news. For now, we are taking another crack at this as Jeff has lots of new projects coming up.

Jeff has been painting up a storm and now offers works in a variety of sizes and media for all budgets. Works include oil and acrylic paintings, pastel and charcoal drawings and limited edition giclee prints.

Upcoming Shows:

First up will be another show at CounterpART Gallery, 128 Merrimack St in Lowell, MA .The gallery has moved upstairs and Jeff will be sharing the space with local artist Calvin Thomas for the month of October. Come on by to check out what these two are up to.

The current exhibition (up through October 31) is called "Figures and Forces." The reception will be from 7-11pm on October 25th. Please join us for another fun celebration with art, music, food, and good company. Go to the CounterpART gallery website for more details.

For you West Coast folks, Jeff's work will be featured in a show at SomArts in San Francisco.
The opening party is planned for November 6th.

In December, Jeff is planning a show at The Spot on Thayer Street in Providence, RI. Check back for details on this show.

Grand Opening at CounterpART Gallery

Filthy Fluno and bunches of SL and RL friends had a great time at the Grand Opening Bash on April 26, 2008 at CounterpART Gallery in Lowell, MA. With live music from Grace Buford (SL's Cylindrian Rutabaga) and virtual live performances by DC Antonelli and Komuso Tokugawa, the show included artwork by local, national, and international (via SL) artists. We had yummy food donated by local restaurants as well as family and friends. Over 200 people attended the event throughout the evening.

Filthy is off to London

Filthy Fluno is hangin' in London this week. He'll be there until the 15th of April. Filthy is there making art, meeting friends, and taking in the city's wonders. While he is in town Filthy will be meeting up with Second Lifers around town, including friends Kafka, Kumi and Ham.

Lowell Takes Note of Filthy's counterpART Gallery


Filthy ( aka Jeffrey Lipsky) was visited by Lowell Sun reporter Kathleen Pierce at his new counterpART Gallery in Lowell, MA. Filthy showed a local artist, Ekaterina Konovalova, how to upload a digital photo of her artwork into Second Life for exhibition. The work will be simultanously displayed in Filthy's real life counterpART gallery. Check out the article that graced the first page of the Lifestyle section of the Lowell Sun.

Filthy Opens RL Gallery at 128 Merrimack St in Lowell, MA

Thanks to the Arts League of Lowell, the Lowell City Council and the owners of 128 Merrimack St in Lowell, I have been granted the use of this gorgeous space to make a real life extension of my online virtual gallery in Second Life. This is the first art gallery in history (if you know one before this, please let me know) to break through the boundaries of virtual reality and rezz into the real world! We're not just talking about an exhibit or two...Filthy's counterpART Gallery (FCG) will be dedicated to the exhibition of fine art as well as present mixed reality mashups of art, music, new media, and exhibitions that bring together both local and international artists. FCG's mission will also promote an inclusive community of artists, local businesses, educators, and virtual technology enthusiasts. Check it out at www.counterpartgallery.com

Please join us for the upcoming mixed reality exhibition April 2-30 called "Virtual Identities" which coincides with the grand opening event for Filthy's counterpART Gallery on Saturday April 26 from 7:30 to 11pm . This exhibit will feature works shown in both the real and virtual counterpArt galleries, by a variety of artists.

Filthy Fluno at Charity Auction

This Saturday Jeffrey Lipsky (aka Filthy Fluno) will participate in a fund-raiser and open house for Nashoba Learning Group. NLG, an innovative private non-profit school primarily serving children on the autism spectrum, is celebrating the groundbreaking of their new site in Bedford, MA. Jeff will donate a signed print of "Nourish" for a silent auction that will take place as part of the celebration. This event is open to the public, so please come out and check out NLG and the stellar services they are providing. The event takes place this Saturday, March 1, from 1-4 at NLG's new building at 10 Oak Park Drive in Bedford, MA.

Filthy Art Exhibit in Brooklyn

Jeffrey Lipsky, along with Rebecca Faye and Hello Beautiful salon, present "The Filthy Art Exhibit" February 2-29, 2008. The exhibit will feature new and recent works by Lipsky (aka Filthy Fluno). Included will be a new drawing inspired by Rebecca Faye, a former fashion model and owner/hair stylist of Hello Beautiful hair salon. Rebecca Faye and her funky hipster salon were recently featured on an episode of the Style Network's reality show Split Ends.

Filthy in Chicago!


Filthy Fluno ( aka Jeffrey Lipsky) will be visiting the exciting RL city of Chicago from January 18 through 21. Filthy will be in Chicago to attend a private showing of his RL artwork for some RL and SL friends.
There will also be a coinciding Second Life event. So please join Filthy and his friends for the in-world event hosted by Ariadne Recreant on January 19th, 5 pm SLT.
The event will include live music from SL's Cylindrian Rutabaga and Komuso Tagagawa, an in-world exhibit of Filthy's recent work, as well as a RL video projection of the SL happenings. Be sure to log in and check it out!
